History of Southwest Edmonton
The history of Southwest Edmonton can be traced back to the late 19th century when the Hudson's Bay Company established a trading post on the North Saskatchewan River. The area remained largely rural and agricultural until the mid-20th century, when the city of Edmonton began a period of rapid growth and expansion.
