Missing a Tooth? We Can Help!
I have a missing front tooth from a playground accident (if you can believe it) and am wondering about how much an implant is…. I hesitate to go in for a consultation only to find out that I can’t afford to have it fixed so I was wondering if you could give me an idea of what to expect that would be great!”
Answer from Dr. Molly Rodgers, General Dentist: I can absolutely believe that you lost a tooth at a playground. It is amazing how many ways there are to lose a tooth. I had someone step onto the back of a shopping cart once and smack out her front tooth – Ouch!! I also had a patient have a tooth knocked out by someone else’s back swing on a golf course! That was not pretty. If you have lost your front tooth, there are actually a few options to replace it. An implant is usually the best way to go but not the only way. Sometimes we can do a bridge where we join the missing tooth to the adjacent teeth. Some people will get a small appliance with the missing tooth attached. These are usually worn until such time the patient can arrange to have the implant or bridge done. These treatment options can range in price from a few hundred dollars for the appliance to approximately $4000 to have an implant done. We would never want someone to not come in because they are embarrassed -we always tell all our patients that any treatment plan we recommend is like a road map. We know where we are starting – you are missing a front tooth. We know where you want to go – you want a front tooth that would look as natural as possible. Then we talk with our patients and discuss what “Route”they want to take to get to where they want to go. These “Routes” can be lengthy or short. We want you to get the treatment that you want and we will help you reach that destination even if there are some detours along the way. And the first consultation is always free. So I encourage you to come in and we can just chat about your options and see if we can make something work for your budget. We would be thrilled to help you get your smile back! Thanks so much for your question – my Amazing team and I look forward to seeing you soon.
