Question:

My Boyfriend has been discussing dentures for a while now and I was just curious what other options he may have that would be less… removable.. The problem is, he had a really fast growth spurt when he was younger that caused his jaw to grow and strengthen too fast for his teeth.. and his parents never had the money to fix them.. so now he is 30 and is embarrassed to smile. We would like to get married one day and I would like to see a huge toothy smile when I walk down the aisle. Our question… is it cheaper to get them fixed, or just break down and get dentures? Thank you!”

Answer from The Tooth Fairy, Dr. Molly Rodgers, Edmonton General Dentist: I always feel sad for anyone who does not like to smile. Life is so short and the most important thing is to enjoy it while it lasts. I know how devastating it can be for someone when they do not like to smile. One of our past patients, said that before he had his Smile Makeover, everyone always thought he was grumpy! And now that he can smile – well – it has totally changed his life. As with any case – it is so specific to each person. Dentures may very well be the best option for your boyfriend but usually there are also many other options. The best place to start is always with a consultation. And these initial consultations are always no charge. I am confident that we can help so that you get to see that Huge Toothy Smile when you walk down the aisle!! And then for all the years to follow!

Can’t wait to meet you both!
